SUBJECT: 2010 Scholarship Awards
CWA JOE BEIRNE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP:
CWA members, their spouses, children and grandchildren (including dependents of laid-off, retired or deceased CWA members) may apply. Applicants must be high school graduates or at least high school students who will graduate during the year in which they apply. Undergraduate and graduate students returning to schooling may also apply. Prior winners may not reapply.
Fifteen (15) two-year scholarships, to be paid at the rate of $3,000 annually, are awarded each year. A second-year award is contingent on academic accomplishment of the first year. Winners are chosen by lottery drawing and only winners will be notified. Final deadline is March 31, 2010.
NABET-CWA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD:
Open to the sons and daughters of active, retired, or deceased members. Applicants must be students in a high school class graduating in 2010. A payment of $750.00 per year for four (4) years is a partial payment of tuition or other expenses to the school designated by the winner. Winners must maintain at least a C+ average, or equivalent, during their four years in college and must attend full time. The return date for the preliminary applications is March 31, 2010. All applications must be verified by the Local President in the space provided before mailing to the Sector Office.
NABET-CWA LOCAL 53 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:
Charles H. Tant, Harold C. Ingels, and Joseph F. Champa Scholarship Awards
Open to sons and daughters of active, retired or deceased members of NABET-CWA Local 53, $1,000 scholarships each per academic year for a maximum of four (4) years. These scholarships are awarded separately by lottery in mid-April. Applicants must be students in a high school class graduating in 2010.
