Program Description:

Local 53 will reimburse members seventy-five percent (75%) or up to a maximum of $2,000.00 for approved training costs and there are no limitations on the number of courses you can attend in a calendar year.

Eligibility:

You must be an active Local 53 member in good standing for one (1) full year and continue to be in good standing until the last day of your training.  If for any reason you fall into bad standing, after you have been approved, your application will be revoked immediately.

You must complete the enclosed training application form and mail back to the NABET-CWA Local 53 Union office for approval.  If you need an application call the Union office.  Please note that the Local 53 President must approve all applications.

Reimbursement:

Video Symphony offers 10% class discounts.  We have made arrangements with Video Symphony to bill Local 53 directly for your training.

For all other approved training centers, other than Video Symphony, payment for the initial cost of the class will be your responsibility.  Upon completion of the class you will need to submit proof of payment and a copy of your certificate of completion to the Local 53 office in order to get reimbursed.

If you desire to take a course from any other manufacturer or vendor of broadcast related products (such as Sony, Grass Valley, and Lightworks) or take instruction from an accredited program (such as UCLA or USC extension programs in the media), you will need the Local 53 President’s prior approval. Approved applicants will be reimbursed seventy-five percent (75%) or up to a maximum of $2,000.00 after submitting proof of payment and a copy of certificate of completion and/or training to the Local 53 Union office.

Note: Any software purchased and reimbursed by this program will be retained by the Union after completion of the course.
